My financial work began by accident. I’m a graduate of Capital University with a BA in Education. I started out as a title one reading teacher. This was a program run by the state. When they stopped the program I no longer had a teaching position so I supplemented my income by working as an office manager for a tech company. I had trouble finding another teaching position but I really liked working for the tech company. Many years later, still working for the tech company I found myself at another cross road. The tech company was downsizing. They kept me on but now it was a part-time position. I asked the owners if I could reach out to some of their clients to supplement my income. My new career path was born.
Life is strange with its twists and turns. Until I was called to audit the accounts for Adoption Circle I really had no contact with adoption. I was hired to complete a project for Adoption Circle and I loved it! The people were so kind it moved me. When my project was completed they asked me to stay on and become the Financial Coordinator. This was something I said yes to with great pleasure.
So, my first touch with adoption. Not exactly personal but still now a part of my life.
Last year just before Thanksgiving I found out that I had 2 brothers that had been adopted as babies. I met one of my brothers and it has been such a wonderful experience! We are just beginning to look for our second brother, and I am looking forward to adding him to the family.
I always wanted a large family and it’s getting bigger by the day! I’m married with 2 sons and 3 grandchildren. I now have 4 BROTHERS! I’m enjoying every minute of it.
